Re-opening for the fall season, in October, 2010.  Please call for information on availability.

The Prickly Pear provides eco-friendly, colorful & charming accommodations in the heart of Socorro, New Mexico's historic Old Town & Plaza District.  Currently owned by innkeepers Jennifer Polle and Steve Harrington, this character inn was originally the home and workshop of well known Socorro craftsman and cabinet maker, E.M. Balatti, built by hand in the earlier part of the 20th century. It's been fully converted into a large and sunny home with lovely, separate guest quarters.

Accommodations include a spacious and completely private suite:  bedroom with queen sized bed, full bath, comfortable sitting area, dining area, small refrigerator, microwave and coffee-maker.  This is a self-catering suite, so guests may choose to bring their own food for breakfast, or take advantage of the scrumptious pastries, gourmet coffee and hot breakfasts at the Manzanares Street Coffeehouse, only a short walk away.  A selection of organic coffee and tea is provided.

The Prickly Pear is a stone’s throw from some of Socorro's finest dining and entertainment, within minutes of the New Mexico Tech Campus and a 25 minute drive from the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge.
